Whenever film festivals take place in New York City, it is usually taking place in Manhattan or in parts of Brooklyn. Queens is underrepresented and has never had a festival that represents the entire borough at large nor had one celebrate it as a hub for filmmaking. Queens is home to a large community of artists, filmmakers, and performers. A festival that celebrates not only these artists but the community will bring better representation to the borough that so many call home. Through this we can bring economic development to the borough through the power of celebrating art and artists adding to the culture.

Queens suffers from a lack of promotion. Often it is called a suburb of New York City when in reality it is part of New York City. Our goal of promoting the borough as a vital part of New York City is key to giving Queens the proper recognition it deserves.
