Memories of Mother

In a world where people need battery charge to stay conscious, 21-year-old Manny is thrown into adulthood when his mother runs out of battery. Slowly realizing the gravity of the situation, idealistic Manny struggles with the responsibility of bringing his mother back to life.

Lola Kenet

Lola Kenet is a director, producer, and editor from NYC. Lola is drawn to character studies in narrative and documentary form. Through her films, Lola aims to push internal conflict outwards and explore the universal insecurities that affect people's relationships. In her producing work Lola supports directors whose work reflects the multiculturalism of her native New York. She develops films that explore cultural identity, immigration, and the meaning of home.

A recipient of the 2017 Tribeca Film Fellowship, she premiered her first short film “Weight of the Whale on Her Shoulders” at the Tribeca Film Festival. She was also recognized as a 2018 Film Independent Future Filmmaker, and is an alumni of the 2021 Telluride Student Symposium. A Spanish-American dual citizen, Lola spent spring of 2022 working as a Post Production Assistant and translator at Lopez Li Films, a Goya Award-winning documentary production company in Madrid. Lola graduated from Boston University in 2023, where her senior film “The Rest of the House” was selected as one of six films out of the entire undergraduate and graduate classes to be honored at BU’s Redstone Film Festival.
